Short-Term (Photographic) Memory Test - Picture Exclusion

Memorized and excluded pictures

Description of the Photographic Memory Test - "Exclusion Method" This test is called a photographic memory test conditionally, since it's difficult to draw a clear line between short-term memory and photographic memory - both are engaged during memorization. However, given the extended memorization time, this test leans more toward photographic memory assessment. This picture memory test is similar to another picture test on our site, but with a key difference: your task will be to identify and select pictures that weren't present in the original reference table. Additionally, you'll have more memorization time - exactly 1 minute for the entire table regardless of its size - allowing you to explore the boundaries of your photographic or short-term memory.
Taking the Photographic Memory Picture Test All you need to do is memorize as many pictures as possible (ideally all) from the initial table within the time limit. When time expires, the original table will disappear and be replaced by a larger table containing both the original pictures and additional new ones. Your goal is to select only the new pictures that weren't in the original table. You'll have ample recall time - 5 minutes - after which you'll be directed to your results page.
Results Interpretation. As this is a new test, we haven't yet collected sufficient data to reliably evaluate short-term memory capabilities. Interpretation is further complicated by the test's multiple difficulty levels, so comprehensive data collection may take significant time. Nevertheless, you'll receive metrics including: correctly identified new pictures, errors made, and missed pictures you should have selected.
