Stroop Test - Not or Yes

Description of the experimental Stroop Test - Not or Yes methodology
This test modification is an experimental version and does not claim to be a professional test for checking the Stroop effect. However, since it features conditions almost identical to those in other similar online Stroop tests, this test has a right to exist. Your task here is to compare the color named by the control word and the color of the test word. The test is quite fast and takes no more than 1 - 1.5 minutes for the 50-word test and no more than 2 - 2.5 minutes for the 100-word test. The first half of the test shows you congruent stimuli, where the color of the test word matches the color named by that word, and incongruent stimuli, where the color of the test word does not match the color named by that word. The Stroop Test - Not or Yes is presented here in a simple version - with a control word of a single, white color on a gray background - and a complex version, where the color of the control text is chosen randomly and may confuse the subject. Spend just a couple of minutes on the test and find out how easily you can resist incongruent stimuli to correctly answer "Yes" - the color named by the control word matches the color of the test word, or "No" - when it does not match.
Taking the Stroop Test - Not or Yes
Choose the appropriate test variant. After navigating to the start page, press the "Start Test" button when ready and begin. Two words will appear on the screen - one control word on a gray background, and one test word below the control word. Your task is to check whether the color named by the control word matches the color of the test word and press the "Yes" button if they match, and "No" if they do not. You need to do this as quickly as you can, while trying not to make mistakes. The faster and more accurately you answer "Yes" or "No", the more accurate the data about your Stroop effect will be. Try to answer consciously, without using so-called ways to cheat the system by focusing specifically on the name of the control word and the color of the test word, otherwise your results will be distorted.
Calculation of results for the Stroop Test - Not or Yes methodology
After completing the entire test and responding to all stimuli, you will be taken to a results page where you will see your statistics. The statistical data will display information for each answered word, noting the color that was present, the expected and actual response, as well as the exact time it took you to respond to that stimulus. In the general results, you will also see the value of your Stroop effect, which will be equal to the difference between the average response speed in the second half of the test and the average response speed in the first half of the test. It is expected that the average response time in the second half of the test will be higher than in the first half, which will confirm the influence of the Stroop effect on you. Keep in mind that over time and with practice in taking such tests, your resistance to the Stroop effect will increase, making this effect less noticeable.
