Reaction and Decision Speed Test for Drivers: "Turn the Right Way"

Image for Driver's Reaction Test

Description of the Reaction Test "Car - Turn the Right Way". In this simple exercise - a reaction time test - you will need to react as quickly as possible to stimuli and make correct decisions. After proceeding to the test, an image of a road from the perspective of a car will appear on the screen in front of you. Upon pressing the screen, the test begins. Within the next 1–4 seconds, an obstacle in the form of a cone will appear either on the right or left side of the screen. Your task is if the cone appears on the right, turn left (by clicking arrows on the screen or using keyboard arrow keys), if it appears on the left, turn right, and if it appears in the middle, press down. The measurement of reaction time consists of 30 series after which you will be taken to a final page with results where you can see the average value of your reaction time, total number of correctly made decisions, incorrectly made decisions, and correspondingly measured effectiveness of decision-making.

Reaction time behind the wheel is a crucial skill for any driver. Statistics show that 90% of accidents occur due to insufficient driver reaction speed. This test will help you:

  • Assess your current reaction speed
  • Train peripheral vision
  • Improve emergency response skills

"The average driver's reaction time is 0.75 sec. However, for this test the values are slightly different from those obtained in reality, towards higher speed. Professionals achieve 0.5 sec. See what you're capable of!"

Test procedure:

  1. A cone appears randomly on screen
  2. Select correct direction (left/right/brake)
  3. System records reaction time
  4. After 30 attempts you get detailed statistics
