Emotional Stroop Test with Parameter Configuration

Image showing Stroop test interface

Create word lists for the emotional Stroop test. Add neutral and emotionally charged words that will be used in the test.

Emotional Variation of the Stroop Test

In the emotional Stroop test, instead of color words, emotionally significant words are used. Research shows that people process words that evoke strong emotions or are related to personal experiences more slowly.

For example, a person with anxiety may slow down when seeing words: "danger", "fear", "panic".

This test will be useful for individual diagnostics - searching and evaluating personal emotional triggers - words that cause your brain to experience temporary hesitation when determining their color, or in professional practice for assessing psychological triggers of your clients. The Emotional Stroop Test is free and confidential; words and reaction time assessments, let alone identification data, are not stored on the site.

How does the test work?

1

Series 1: Neutral words

Words without emotional coloring. This will help establish your baseline reaction speed.

2

Series 2: Emotional words

Words that may evoke emotional responses. Pay attention to your feelings.

3

Series 3: Mixed words

Random sequence of neutral and emotional words. The most revealing part of the test.

What will the results show?

The test does not provide diagnoses but can show:

  • Presence of emotional reactivity to certain words
  • Speed of emotional information processing
  • Ability to concentrate attention with distracting factors
  • Overall cognitive flexibility

Important: This test is a research tool and does not replace specialist consultation.
